Barrett was able to fish last year and this year the whole family was able to. Grami rode the general over to help oversee a kid and Charlie and Kaci brought the twins too. The weather was great, a little damp at first, but nice and cool so nobody was scorched.
Barrett was very serious about his fishing game. So much so that he asked to stay after the derby so he could practice and get better at fishing. Gabe wanted to be serious about his fishing game, but the poor guy was a little more than discouraged after everyone around him was reeling in fish and he wasn't. Patience is a hard thing to learn! He did eventually catch a teeny weeny fish that even earned him a plaque for smallest catch of the day in his age group. Ellie caught her first fish in the first five minutes and then she was pretty well over the whole fishing thing. She enjoyed being outside and running around with her cousins and popping in to reel her rod every once in a while.
She was not about to hold that thing.
