Memorial Day Fun 2012

A post not all about Barrett!

Crazy I know.

Although, it mostly will be about Barrett, since he's the reason we had so much fun celebrating Memorial Day with family.

To celebrate the day with us (and to meet the newest addition) a caravan of my family traveled down south from Kansas. Mom, Dad, and my brother Daniel were already here. My sister Amy, her husband Jerad, and son Bryson showed up mid morning Monday. And, shortly thereafter my Aunt Suzanne, Uncle Tom, and Grandma Moore arrived. I was ecstatic! It meant so much to me to have them all make the three hour trip down just for a few hours (six hour round trip drive in a day...yeah who wouldn't want to jump all over that?).

And, not only did they travel the distance, but they also brought lunch with them! There was some baby holding time for all, the boys listened to books on tape in Gabe's teepee in the front yard, then the boys played in the pool (the tiny inflatable pool I purchased on clearance last season that looked a whole heck of a lot bigger on the cover of the box...where do they get these tiny kids for the photos?), and after all that we crowded around my eight seater table for lunch.

It was exactly the kind of day you have to kick off summer in my fantasy world of how perfect days should be.

And, of course we photographed the day like crazy. You didn't think it'd be any other way did you? :-)

One very proud cousin.

Cousins.
In matching outfits.
Love.

Love that throw back laugh.

Her ninth great grandchild.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to visit. I can't say enough how much I appreciated it.

Pool photos coming up next...
