It's only February 29th. But truly, the winter of 2011-2012 just wasn't meant to be. We haven't had a single snow day to date (last year by this time we'd used ten) and the temperatures have been averaging 60 and above for weeks. It's been absolutely gorgeous and Gabe has been loving the extra time outside. It's going to be awesome when spring arrives for real and the sunlight lasts longer into the evening so we can spend more time outside.
One of Gabe's birthday gifts was a big boy bicycle from his Grandma and Grandpa Danel. He spent some time last week figuring out how to make the pedals work. He did great on the down slope of the driveway, but hasn't quite figured out how to make it go uphill.
Unngghh...can you hear him grunting?

I'm thinking in no time at all he'll be scooting along just fine all by himself. Which creates a host of new problems to address since we live in the city and all. He likes to call it his motorcycle. Uncle Daniel thinks this is a bad idea and teaches him the wrong thing. I don't care. Gabe knows the difference between the two. My bicycle was a horse in my younger years. It had twine reins and I named her Sugar.
