Mother's Day Part 2 of 3

When the fireworks were over we drove a few blocks downtown to the Doubletree Hotel. We checked in about 11:30, so it was after midnight before we were in bed. And, incredibly Gabe was still as happy go lucky as ever. It was a really nice room. Gabe went right to sleep in his pack n play and we all slept in until about 9 the next morning.

We spent some time just lounging in bed, then got around and headed to the Tulsa Zoo. We took breakfast from McDonald's with us to eat inside the zoo and only stayed a couple of hours. It was quite crowded and hot. Two days after our trip to the zoo I realized we didn't even make it to the petting zoo. Gabe had a blast anyway and I'm sure we'll go again this summer.

Next, we drove to the mall where I shopped for a dress (didn't end up finding anything...bummer) and Casey and Gabe took a two hour nap in the car. We shared Japanese cuisine from the food court (it was really delicious and one combo plate fed all of us) and then we enjoyed an ice cream cone at Dairy Queen. Again, it was really just one of those perfect, unhurried, do it if you want to, kind of days.

Here are some photos from the hotel and zoo.

Good beautiful morning, World.

"What dat?!"
That my dear, would be downtown Tulsa.

And, now on to the zoo....

"Dat's a big monkey!"

That's a pretty little grizzly.

He really liked this exhibit.

It was an Arctic owl.

"Elephant!"

Leaning in for a better view.

Hey. The camera. It's up here.

Boys. They just don't get it.

Man was he thirsty.

Promise I didn't backwash Daddy.

Checking out the penguins.
His most favorite movie of all time is
Happy Feet, a movie all about penguins.

He did a lot of leaning in for better views.

Ah! Trains!
A boy's dream come true.

He's shouting for the whole world to hear,
"ALL ABOARD! ALL ABOARD THE TRAIN!"

Ummm....

....someone broke this poor rocker.
No fun.

Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh my!

And, that's a wrap folks. He's out.

And, for tomorrow there's one last Mother's Day post.
