Church Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter we joined hundreds of our church friends and their kiddos for an Easter Egg Hunt. Originally the event was to be held outside, but poor weather conditions moved it inside.

Highlights of the event included baby bunnies for the kids to hold, story time, and Gabe's strange wanderings during said story time. After the hunt they also served hot dogs and blew up gigantic inflatibles for the kids to play on, but we didn't stay around long enough for either. We didn't stay mostly because it was way past Gabe's naptime and he was beginning to show early signs of a complete meltdown. The egg hunt was scheduled right in the prime of Gabe's normal naptime.

I did snap some photos and the baby bunny holding photos are my absolute favorites. He was quite hesitant about touching the bunny at first, but once Casey got him warmed up to the idea he was so very excited about holding the bunny himself. His grin could not have been any bigger.

During story time Gabe wandered all over the crowd and gym for that matter. He was totally on his own agenda. Then, when we took him upstairs for the actual egg hunting they ushered the kids into his favorite place of the entire building. "The BIG Room." The Big Room is just a large room in the nursery wing that they allow the littles to run around in and there are some larger toys for them to climb and play on as well as a closet full of balls of all sizes. Unlike most of the other children in the room, mine was completely disinterested with the eggs. He was all about playing with the toys. During our time in the room he only picked up one egg, and he placed that egg in someone else's basket. I really didn't expect any less though when I found out what room they would be in.
