Barrett 10 Months

My, my where has the time gone? This past month has flown by! I'm still late getting up Barrett's ten month post....he's been ten months for two weeks now. We are finally enjoying a spell of warmer weather here. Though it'll be nowhere in sight this week as another cold front is moving in.

Recently Barrett has taken to standing on his own. No steps yet, not even close. He acts like he wants to just skip walking altogether and get straight to the running. He is our daredevil, a personality opposite from Gabe. Nothing seems to scare Barrett.

He is up to four teeth now. Two on bottom and two on top. But, not the two middle on top. One middle and one "fang" as my mother calls it. It's the goofiest looking smile when it shows.

The boy eats like he won't be seeing another meal anytime soon. We have to just cut him off sometimes. He easily out eats his big brother. And, he eats pretty much everything. We just have to chunk it up real small for him and he gets after it.

I think partly because of teething and partly due to sharing a bedroom with his whole family, he has stopped sleeping through the night...much to my dismay. On a good night he'll be up at four and six, several nights it's been two, four, and six. Needless to say I am one tired momma and Casey is one tired daddy. The only person in the family it doesn't seem to bother is Gabe. Boy could sleep through a tornado. Barrett, on the other hand, is an extremely light sleeper. I've at least been successful in getting him into a long afternoon nap routine. Some days I take advantage and have a nap myself...while Gabe watches tv or naps. The only catch with that is if Gabe takes a nap he'll be wired until midnight. This is no exaggeration.

Barrett is beginning to form words. He's got momma down pretty well...usually only used when he wants to nurse. He says dada, and once we heard him say papa. He also says buh (bite) if we make him. Usually he's entirely too busy screaming for the next bite to be disciplined enough to request with the word bite.

He does the most adorable cuddle where he leans in and puts his head on your shoulder/chest. It's not really new. You can see it in his nine month picture. I still love it.

In this month's picture I am wearing my brother's chiropractic business shirt. You can visit his site by clicking on the link: Legacy Chiropractic and Wellness. His customer base is beginning to pick up and we are very excited for him. He does excellent work. He did his Active Release Technique (he's the only one in the Topeka area certified in this particular method) on my bum neck just last week and I went from not being able to twist my head to either side to complete recovery in just two treatments. If you, or someone you know, needs a chiropractor...look him up.

We worked with Barrett for a good fifteen minutes trying to get a good smile. Casey behind the camera, me holding him. Grami walks out on to the porch and says, "Hi, Baby!" and he's all, "HEY! My Grami is here!" and cue grins galore. Whatever. I got a great picture. :-)
