A host of family and friends turned out for the party, which was held the weekend after his birthday and Gabe was thrilled to see everyone. He doesn't much like being the center of attention, so he totally freaked out when it was time to sing to him and we ended up not singing. Then, his daddy had to coax him into opening his gifts. He is definitely a bashful kid and I disagree with forcing him to not be bashful. He'll grow up soon enough.
On the day of his birthday we woke him with a room full of balloons and one gift. That evening we had cupcakes at home. He let us sing to him, which made me happy.
Just before we moved he had taken to sleeping under Barrett's crib.
Barrett didn't mind.
Smile of anticipation.
Smile of "what the heck did I get a plastic box for"?
Yay! LEGOS!
And, a plastic box to store them all.
After supper on the evening of his birthday...
Love this kid.
Messed up hair and all.
And, pictures from the friends and family party held the weekend after his birthday.
Opening his boots from Uncle Daniel, Uncle Charlie, and Aunt Kaci.
Oh, there they are. The little ones in the middle.
The others are Daniel's.
Cupcakes by the fabulous Nikki!
So glad I didn't have to worry about making those that particular weekend.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate Gabe's birthday! I can't believe what a big boy he's become, and at the same time he's still very much a small boy. We love him dearly and he brings so much joy to our family.
