Bartlesville Christmas Activities

In December, we also attended the annual Christmas parade in Bartlesville. The weather was nice that day, so Casey drove the van up early to nab a parking spot and we walked from our house to the parade route later that evening.

I've also included some random phone photos from Christmas time for this post.

First up the Christmas parade.

Want to see the difference in personalities for my children?

High fives from Barrett for the big scary reindeer.

Crouching in the back of the van from Gabe.

What a nice smile, Casey.
Boys...not so much.

I'll just take this.

Oh, no he didn't!

Barrett was fading fast.
He actually slept through most of the parade.
In my arms.
Bliss.

Now, on to some other random Christmas happenings captured by the trusty iPhone camera.

The back of one of Bev's handmade ornaments.
We use this collection for our Advent countdown.
An accidental angel imprint that only Gabe noticed.

Went all out with the pretty wrappings this year.

Baking cookies for Christmas with the Moore family.

Kisses under the mistletoe!

Awww....mushy stuff.

All those pretty wrappings.

Barrett eating Stephen's foot.

Stephen getting a little payback.
Neither of the boys minded being bit and/or sat on.

Gabe's first guitar.
He's in love with it.
He's already played me some songs.
I'll have to upload the videos some time.

Love this boy. Hope he plays half as well as his daddy someday.

So, these next two photos are from the night before Christmas Eve. I totally stole this idea from Pinterest, but added my own twist. We put Gabe to bed that night and told him we would be heading out in the morning for Grami and Papa's to celebrate Christmas there. He went to bed excited to leave in the morning. Then, Casey and I secretly packed up the van, made Gabe a plate of chocolate chip cookies and a glass of chocolate milk, and surprised him in his room with a late night drive to Grami and Papa's. He was elated, silly crazy, all giggly. He stayed wide awake the whole ride. Lucky for us, Barrett slept peacefully through all Gabe's chattering over the three hour ride.

Next up, Christmas in Kansas!
